Please Note:

You must be 18 years or older and the age of majority in your place of residence to use, subscribe or register as a member. The Service is a general audience site and we do not knowingly collect, maintain or disclose personal information from or about children under 15 years of age.

Why we gather your personal information.

In order for us to do business together, suppling and entering your information is the way to purchase our products and services.  We respect your confidential information and will not sell your information. We will limit sharing your information to only sharing with necessary people/organisations in our distribution chain that contribute to suppling your purchase.

What information do we gather

1.      Depending on how you interact with us (different Customer levels direct via on-line and at events, Event Hosts, Social Retailers, and Suppliers), we collect some or all of the following types of information:

2.      Your name, address, telephone number, email address, user ID and contact information. billing information (credit/debit card number, expiration date, CVV code, alternate or additional billing information and billing address). gender and birth date, if you choose, or are otherwise required to, enter such information, and interests. products purchased and occasion type (for example, Mothers Day). any promotion or gift card code and related information - gift recipients' names, addresses, telephone numbers and email addresses.

3.      Device information - information about your mobile device, including replicated website and platform information, user identification number and device location.

4.      Application information - application information, including which of your applications are used, how your applications are used and the duration of use of your applications.

5.      Network information – network information, including IP address, network carrier and country code, browsing information, such as how you interact with the Services. other information you provide to us.

6.      Members may also add to their Address Book the name, address and telephone number of friends or other persons to whom they may wish to send gifts or expressions. Other Members do not have the right to view and edit your Address Book entries.

How we use personal information

We use Personal Information to conduct our business and to provide you with high quality products and services. For example, if you order from the website, we may send you emails and notices about your order and about other merchandise and services that we think may be of interest to you. We may share Personal Information within the company corporate organisation. We may also share Personal Information with the Fragrance Event Social Marketing team as part of, and in connection with, our business.

How we share personal information

We may disclose your Personal Information in response to a court order, subpoena, government investigation or requirement of any law enforcement agencies.

We use other service providers to perform specific functions in our distribution chain on our behalf. When we disclose information to these service providers, we disclose information to help them to perform their service. For example, in order to deliver products to you, we must share some information. We partner with third parties (such as International Warehousing, Website software for order processing, Customs and NZ Couriers) to ship products.  In the example of shippers, we provide them some personally identifiable information such as your name, shipping address, email, and phone number. Similarly, to help you buy products and provide customer service to you, we must provide your credit card number to financial services corporations such as credit-card processors and issuers. When we submit your credit card number for authorization, we use state-of-the-art data encryption to protect your information. Except as described, we do not share or knowingly make any Personal Information available to any other third parties.

Who else collects your personal information

Our Independent Social Retailers have selling rights to our products. Independent Social Retailers are not employed by Fragrance Events. We do of course outline in our training with our Social Retailers the importunacy of the way they handle their customers information and the fact they must duplicate and follow our Privacy Policies, but we cannot be there to control how they operate.

Therefore, we do not control, nor are we responsible or liable for the collection, storage, use or disclosure of personal information by Independent Social Retailers. If you provide information to an Independent Social Retailer, and we have access to it, we shall treat it in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you are the customer of an Independent Social Retailer, you should check with them directly to learn about their data privacy practices.

How do we collect your information

(a)       General

We collect information through our Website, emails, mail, fax, telephone, mobile devices and applications and social media applications (such as our Mobile App) including when you:

Visit our Website and use our Service, place an order, participate in our forums, surveys, promotions, content submissions, chats, bulletin boards, discussion groups, webinars, membership registrations, and engage in other activities, services, products and resources we make accessible to our customers, members or users.

The information may be provided directly to us by you when placing an order - or, as is true of most websites, we gather certain information automatically. This information may include internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, device information, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, the files viewed on our site (e.g., HTML pages, graphics, etc.), operating system, date/time stamp, and/or clickstream data to analyse trends and administer the Website. This information may be collected by us even if an order, registration, or other process is started but not completed or is otherwise cancelled.

(b)       Cookies

A “cookie” is a small data file stored by your Web browser on your computer’s hard drive. It allows Fragrance Events to recognize your computer (but not specifically who is using it) upon entering the website. A cookie cannot retrieve any other data from your hard drive, pass on a computer virus, or capture your email address. We use cookies to keep track of when you return to the website as well as to identify the pages you click on during your visit to our website and the name of the website you visited immediately before clicking to Fragrance Events.  We may use this information to improve our website design, product assortments, customer service, and special promotions. You can, of course, disable cookies on your computer by indicating this in the settings, preferences or options menus in your browser. However you will not be able to make purchases on our website if you disable cookies.

If you are shopping at FragranceEvents.co.nz  and are having difficulty adding items to your shopping cart or completing your order, please check your privacy settings in your browser. We find that “Medium” Privacy Settings will optimize your online shopping experience. If you prefer not to change your privacy settings or override your cookie handling practices, you can contact our corporate office.

(c)       Social Media.

Please note that any personal information you reveal or post on one of our public forums, such as a message board, chat room, blog, discussion group, webinar, survey, contest, user review, and all User Submissions, are not protected by this Privacy Policy and may be collected, shared. Information you provide or post on our public forums, you disclose at your own risk.

(d)       Push Notifications.

As a user who has downloaded our Company's mobile application, we may from time-to-time send you push notifications to your device in order to communicate with you and advise you of current offers and promotions. To ensure that you receive timely notification of such communications and promotions, we need to collect certain information from your device as indicated above. If at any time you do not wish to receive these types of communications, you may turn them off at the device level.

How you can opt out of receiving promotional emails

You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from Fragrance Events at any time by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of our Promotional Emails.

Please allow up to five working days for us to process your request. If you “opt out” of receiving promotional emails from us, the only emails you will receive will be

(1)   About transactions that you initiate (such as to confirm orders you submit on our website, inform you about your order status, respond to your customer service enquiries and answer any other questions you send us).

(2)   About matters affecting your Personal Information.

(3)   In connection with certain services or promotions for which you have registered. You can also opt out of receiving promotional SMS text messages by clicking on the Unsubscribe link at the bottom of our text messages and any texts sent by our Social Retailers.

Where we store your information

Our Service is operated in New Zealand however we are part of a global distribution supply chain.  At times, for orders originating within the EU we may use third parties located within the EU to process such orders.

Our software and website operations are located both in NZ and the United States.  We strive to store all information on “the cloud” for your added protection.

In using these third parties, we take steps to ensure those entities will process your information in a manner consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Data Security

The website incorporates physical, electronic, and administrative procedures to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal information, including Secure Sockets Layer (“SSL”) for all financial transactions through the website. We use SSL encryption to protect your personal information online, and we also take several steps to protect your personal information in our facilities. Access to your personal information is restricted. Only employees who need access to your personal information to perform a specific job are granted access to your personal information.

While we use industry-standard precautions to safeguard your personal information, we cannot guarantee 100%.  Please be advised, no transmission of data over the Internet or any other network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. Although we make reasonable efforts to safeguard personal information once we receive it, we cannot warrant the security of information we receive. You should always use appropriate self-protection measures and practice safe browsing on all websites, including, protecting your password and your computers, devices, applications, and account from unauthorized access. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer.

Miscellaneous Information

We follow the NZ law that the requirement to disclose any privacy breaches and advice those whose privacy has been breached will be a top priority should that unfortunate event occur.

Where the customer personal data is held outside of the country (and on cloud) the obligation is on our NZ entity to protect that data and make sure that it is secure.

Changes to this Privacy Policy:

We reserve the right to change this Privacy Policy, and to apply any changes to previously collected Personal Information. We urge you to periodically check this Privacy Policy page and document for any changes.

 If you cannot accept the terms of the Privacy Policy, as posted, please do not use this website. Governing Law, Dispute Jurisdiction: The laws of New Zealand, excluding its choice of law principles, govern all matters arising from or related to the website, including your access and use, and any Internet transaction between you and us.

Children’s Privacy:

The Fragrance Events website is not intended for use by, anyone under the age of 15. By using our company website, you represent and warrant that you are 15 years of age or older. If you are not at least 15 years of age, do not access, use or register on the Fragrance Events website. In the event we become aware you are under 15, we will cancel your registration.

Access to your Personal Information:

All information will be made available for inspection relating to yourself, provided reasonable notice is given.

Fragrance Events reserves the right to reject your application for inspection and will advise reasons for in writing. We reserve the right to charge a nominal fee for producing such information. If any part of the information inspected is determined to be incorrect and requires alteration, then Fragrance Events will make such alteration in compliance with the corrected advice provided by the individual.
