Rabanne
Paco Rabanne has recently undergone a significant transformation, rebranding itself as simply “Rabanne” in June 2023. This change comes in the wake of the death of its founder, Paco Rabanne, who passed away at his home in France, in February 2023, aged 88.
The rebrand was a celebration of the brand's 60th anniversary and was intended to make the brand more accessible and global.
Paco Rabanne was a Spanish fashion designer and perfumer known for his avant-garde style and space-age designs. Born in Spain, his mother fled the Spanish Civil war after her husband was killed. His mother worked in France as a seamstress for a fashion house. Rabanne studied architecture in Paris working predominately with metal.
His career began in the 1960s when he combined his love of metal and fashion and designed jewellery for other fashion houses. He then launched his own fashion house in 1966. Rabanne’s first joint project for creation of fragrance was when he launched his first perfume in 1969.
